FAQs

1. What is Speech and Debate?
Speech and Debate consists of a team of students who travel weekly to compete in competitions throughout Texas.

2. What makes Speech and Debate different from Academics?
Speech and Debate can last all day. We do not study for or take test. We do write, read, debate, orate (speak), and eat! Because we basically "perform," we wear suits (or dress up).

3. What if I don't have a suit or dress clothes?
No worries! We always help students get clothes as needed.

4. Is there anything else I have to buy?
Nope! Our administration generously supports our entire UIL team which allows us to support you!

5. Do I have to be in the class to be on the team?
Not at all. I am available most days after school. Just let me know when is best for you, and we can work around your schedule.
