Hello! My name is Jason Reznicek, and I am the split counselor for Mabank Intermediate School and Mabank Junior High School. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a primary focus on working with children and adolescents. Most students know me as Mr. Jason or Mr. Rez.

I have been with Mabank ISD for nearly three years and have worked in the school setting for the past five years in a variety of roles. I truly enjoy supporting students of all ages as they grow both personally and academically. It is incredibly rewarding to help students navigate life's challenges, build confidence, and reach their goals.

I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas Tech University and later received my master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in Dallas. Throughout my career, I have served in a variety of mental health roles across Van Zandt, Kaufman, and Henderson counties, gaining valuable experience working with children, families, and the community.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two children. In my free time, you'll often find me outdoors working in the yard, building projects around the house, watching or playing sports, collecting sports cards, or playing video games.

It is truly an honor and privilege to be part of the Mabank ISD family. I look forward to another wonderful school year and the opportunity to continue serving our students, families, and staff!

Hello! My name is Tyla Thomas, and I am proud to serve as a school counselor at Mabank Intermediate School.

As a counselor, I am passionate about supporting the academic, social, emotional, and college and career development of every student. I strive to create a safe, welcoming environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

I earned my bachelor's degree in grades 4-8 education from Midwestern State University and later received my master’s degree in School Counseling from Amberton University. Throughout my 13 year career, I have enjoyed building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff while helping students develop the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

I believe strong partnerships between school and home are essential for student success, and I look forward to collaborating with our families and community to support our students.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children, supporting local youth activities, and being involved in the community.

I am honored to be a part of the Mabank ISD family and look forward to another wonderful year of learning and growth.
