Rachel has been teaching for 9 years. She received her bachelor's degree from University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and is currently teaching as a Math Specialist. Rachel believes the best part about teaching is being able to be an integral part in the development of young minds. She says that "no matter how small that part may be, it is all the reason I need to keep doing what I was called to do - teach"
Windy has been teaching for 2 years. She received her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University-College Station and is currently teaching 1st Grade. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has two beautiful girls. She loves to take photographs and blog. Windy has wanted to be a teacher since she was in second grade and says "when you see the proud looks on the students' faces when they 'get' something, you couldn't be more proud for them and it is so rewarding".
Melody has been teaching for 28 years. She received her master's degree from Stephen F. Austin University and is currently teaching 4th grade Language Arts. She has been married for 23 years. Melody wanted to be a teacher, not only because she loves children, but because she wants to make a difference in the lives of her students that far exceeds a classroom.
Peyton has been teaching for 15 years. She received her bachelor's degree from UT Tyler and is currently teaching 5th Grade Science. She has been married 27 years and has two sons currently attending college. Payton says teaching Science is "the best job in the world". She enjoys discussing how amazing our world is and having fun learning to appreciate life and our earth with her students.
Inken has been teaching for 23 years. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Cottbus, Germany and is currently teaching 8th Grade Math. She has been married for 25 years and has two sons. In 1995 she responded to a newspaper ad in Germany for an International Teacher Exchange in the United States which eventually brought her to Mabank. Inken decided in the 7th grade to become teacher and says that she "loves working with children and treasures the moment when the lightbulb comes on".
Amanda has been teaching for 4 years. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Houston and is currently teaching World History. She loves driving and modifying import cars, reading and studying history and playing basketball. Amanda says "What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing the spark, the "ah ha" moment happens right in front of me and being able to see a student go from not understanding to being excited about what they learned is the reason I am a teacher".
