Howdy, from Mrs. Chapman

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be?

Welcome to the Counseling Department

puzzleWelcome to the counseling department at Mabank Intermediate School. I sincerely hope that you and your child benefit from your time and experiences on our campus.

In my 20 years as an educator and counselor it has been tradition to etch out goals for each new school year. As we contemplated what goal we would take on as a campus in our second year as Mabank Intermediate, it became apparent that the most important thing we could do for our students was “Get Connected.”

In order for students to be successful, I believe it is imperative that we focus on creating relationships that foster learning at so many levels. As the counselor, it is my goal, to help create that positive learning environment for your child by making connections between students, school, family and community.

To make these connections, the counseling department offers a number of services including individual and group counseling for students, academic consultation and coordination between students, educators and families, testing and assessment for students, a guidance curriculum for educators and students, and referrals for students and their families.

Throughout the year, it is my goal to serve as a positive role model, an educator, and an advocate for your child. Through this website I hope to provide information that is beneficial to you, your child, and your family. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to call.

Best wishes for a wonderful, enriching new school year.
