This year's Spirit Week charity is the Muscular Dystrophy Association! The following are fundraising events taking place from Monday, September 8th-12th. Be there Friday night for the big reveal at Panther Stadium when the Panthers faced the Kemp Yellowjackets!

Spirit Week Community Activities

The Spirit of Charity Golf Tournament starts Monday afternoon at Cedar Creek Country Club. This is a great activity and is always lots of fun. Contact Cris Cary at the high school if you need information.

The Spirit Rally is Monday from 6-8 pm at the High School. Those who are doing fundraising activities will set up in the horseshoe parking area in front of the main entrance. The concession area will be on the front steps because that is the only location for plugs. Remember to bring EVERYTHING that you need. There are no supplies at the high school. Start hunting down tables, extension cords, money bags, etc. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. We have lots of activities slated (magic show, karaoke, games) and there is food galore (hamburgers, hot dogs, soup, popcorn and drinks).

The following restaurants are supporting MISD’s fundraising effort!  Please support them and MDA!

• La Hacienda will donate $1 for every kid’s meal sold on Tuesday, September 9
• Blue Burrito will donate $1 for every Monterrey (Chicken fajita) sold on Wednesday, September 10
• Vetoni’s will donate $1 for every special sold on Thursday,
  September 11

Central Elementary is hosting its Community Garage Sale again this year. They will have all of their goodies out on Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm. Be sure an stop by. There were lots of bargains last year.

The Catch the Spirit Fun/Run walk will take place Thursday, September 11. Melissa Sullivan at Lakeview Elementary will forward for more information for this event.

The Spirit Week Shirts are already in progress and on sale for $12. Sizes available include:

                    Adult:   Small through 2XL
                    Youth:  Small through XL
                               

The shirts are only available through Wednesday morning, Sept. 10 (Orders must be in before 10 am).
