First Nine Weeks

August 22- MISD Online Access to 2011-2012 Forms & Student Profile Sheet
New for 2011-2012 School Year: Online Registration Cards and Health Forms may be accessed and updated by logging in to family access located at www.mabankisd.net. Parents will complete the steps for online registration for returning students. 

August 30- Distribution & Discussion of Student Handbook
Electronic Communication, Video/Internet Consent, Student Responsibility and Check Acceptance Forms due to
1st period teachers by August 30th.

Spirit Week Kickoff- September 19-23.
College Day for Juniors/Seniors: September 20 (9-11) MHS Common’s Area.
Financial Aid/College Planning Night: September 20, 6:00 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium.
Homecoming- September 23.

September 21- Progress Reports & Investigating Occupations/Career Survey
Students should identify subjects they enjoy and use this information to find out the names of occupations that are related to these subjects. Students can gather information about occupations online using the Job Guide at www.jobguide.dest.gov or the myfuture site at www.myfuture.edu. See counselor for additional information.

September 28- Connecting Family/Community to MISD: Speaker Dr. Meg Meeker. MHS Auditorium 7:00p.m.
All Sophomores and Juniors will be administered the PSAT (11th) and PLAN (10th) tests on Wednesday, October 12.
Seniors will be administered the ASVAB on Wednesday, October 12.
Freshmen will have opportunity to take the PSAT or Fitness Gram on Wednesday, October 12.

October 28- Report Cards, Yearbook Order Forms and Drug/Alcohol Presentation

October is Red Ribbon Month, which is a celebration and commitment to being alcohol/drug free.

MHS 5th  Annual Service Project

January 20- Report Cards, STUCO Valentine Survey; Dating Violence and Abuse Presentation

Third Nine Weeks

February 8- Progress Reports and “Education Go Get It” Activity: What Transcript? Planning for Future Scheduling 2012-2013 School Year
This project will educate students on the challenges of a rapidly growing job market and the need to be prepared for those challenges. Additional information can be found at www.collegeforalltexans.com.

March 28- Report Cards and Deadly Desire: STD Presentation
