About Us

Mabank High School has a commitment to excellence and provides an academic program that recognizes the potential of each student while aiming to develop responsible community citizens.

The campus, located one hour southeast of Dallas, is largely composed of businesses and small industries. With a faculty and staff of 112, Mabank High School in rural Kaufman County has approximately 1020 students in grades nine through twelve.

Mabank High School takes pride in developing student and parent relationships through our advisory program.  In this program each student is assigned a teacher (advisor) who will contact parents regularly regarding grades, attendance, behavior, or anything that needs to be communicated to parents/guardians.  In addition, the advisor will assist the student with academic and social guidance.

Family Access is another tool parents can use to stay connected to the school.  This program allows parents or guardians to track their child’s progress through the MISD web-site.  Parent’s log-in and password information is sent via email by the technology department.  Parents may access student records:  grades, discipline, lunch money, attendance and more through this link.  What a great way to keep up with your student’s success!

We continually strive for the improvement of Mabank High School and believe every student can succeed.  This year, in our quest for excellence, each junior took the PSAT, which is exceptional preparation for the SAT, which many colleges require.  Every sophomore took the PLAN test to prepare them for the ACT, also required by many colleges.  At MHS preparing students for college is of the utmost importance.

At Mabank High School we consider it an honor to be a part of the High Schools That Work (HSTW) network.  We are one of 1030 schools in the United States that can call themselves part of this team.  As a HSTW school, we have committed ourselves to raising the achievement level of students in reading, mathematics and science.  The High Schools That Work network is the largest, most focused and most effective force dedicated to school improvement.  Mabank High School leaders and teachers have a vision of how their school can be different.  Through this program we close the gap between “what is” and “what can be”.

Mabank High School is a learning community that constantly searches for ways to advance the achievement of all students and will continue to provide a quality education through high expectations and engaging instruction.
